Lisa Mandl, MS, NCC, LPC, CCTP, CYLY is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship sets the stage for healing. I won't tell you to trust me, I want you to trust yourself. I bring a lifetime of experience, clinical skills, additional post-graduate work in Interpersonal and Family Communication and various holistic modalities to our relationship. I specialize in working with those with varying levels of trauma and PTSD. I have also helped people manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder as well as more chronic mental illness symptoms.
Besides individual therapeutic work, I also have experience facilitating psychoeducational and skills-based groups as well as on topics such as anxiety, depression and healing from trauma. I use an eclectic therapeutic style combing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused (Brief) Therapy and Trauma-Informed Care. I also have experience with several Eastern modalities (including Reiki and Laughter Yoga) and incorporate them as well as art, music and play into my practice.
I am passionate about helping my clients reach their desired goals. I view them as worthy, as valuable and as capable of achieving the lives they want. I am deeply honored to travel the unknown path with them; to be present and support them through the darkness, and follow them out towards a life filled with more hope and happiness. I view clients as strong survivors and help them to rediscover strengths, resiliencies and insight promoting a journey towards healing.
